This photograph was taken on May 23, 2007 in Georgia, the Caucasus (1/250 sec, f/8.0).

I've only noticed that thing in the corner when I was going to delete this otherwise unsuccessful shot. I didn't see it while shooting. There were lots of bees flying around the lilac bush but it was obviously not an insect. And it wasn't some mote on the lens as I've taken several shots in succession and it's visible only on this one. I have no idea what it could be so I call it a UFO. And I mean just that - something flying what I couldn't identify, nothing more.

When I've seen it, Antonioni's Blow-Up came to my mind but, unfortunately, I couldn't reveal more details with Photoshop manipulations. To enhance the contrast of the resampled image, I've applied the Lab b channel to the Lightness channel using the Overlay blending and opacity 50%. The larger image is an actual-size (not resampled) crop from the 2592x1944 original without any retouching.

Hello There.

I was browsing through your flower photos today and came across this photo. i would call this a happy surprise for you. I am a watercolorist, I absolutely love your photo of the pink columbine I had never seen one before. I would like to know if I could have your permission to do a water color of the pink columbine which would be for my own amazement. When the painting is finished I can send you a digital photo of the finished painting.

Thank you and
