I am kind of dumb when it comes to photography but how do you photograph these? Is it an edited background or do you chill the bugs and then kind of use a light box?

It was a sleepy fly sitting on a white wall so it was not too hard to clean the background in Photoshop. I never chill the bugs and don't use a light box.
